Elvira Brătilă, MD, PhD is an academic clinician and accomplished OB-GYN, who brings her significant experience in diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy to this project. As a specialist (2006) and subsequently, as a consultant (2011) in OB-GYN, Dr. Bratila gained significant experience in directly managing patients with benign and malignant gynecologic conditions, with a particular focus on advanced minimally-invasive procedures for the management of pelvic disease. Dr. Bratila obtained an official certification for Laparoscopic Gynecology in 2007 and for Infertility and Assisted Reproductive Techniques in 2008.

In the course of  her career, Dr. Bratila has increasingly perfected her skills in this area by attending numerous courses, workshops and congresses, the most recent of which were the Fourth Annual Workshop on Video-Assisted and Robotic Laparoscopy and Suturing (New York, 2012), Advanced Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery Workshop (Aachen, 2008) and Current Techniques in the Treatment of Deep Endometriosis (Strassbourg, 2007). Dr. Brătilă has also participated in several meetings as a visiting surgeon and has assisted renowned surgeons, such as Daniel Dargent, Harry Reich and S. Goldberg. Most recently, she has been an invited speaker and practical skills demonstrator during the workshop:  New tools in the diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence, hyperactive bladder and uterine prolapse (March 2013).

Dr. Brătilă has authored numerous scientific papers and is frequently involved in multicentric national and international clinical trials. She has written chapters in two important books: Vaginal Hysterectomy (2006) and Endoscopic Surgey in Gynecology (2008). She is a member of numerous prestigious medical associations, including The American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy (AAGL), The European Society of Gynecologic Oncology (ESGO) and The International Society of Ultrasonography in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG),

Dr. Brătilă’s  interest in novel techniques of staging and treatment in endometriosis has been materialized in several publications and oral presentations at both national and international level. Her most recent relevant publications include:Indication of Surgical Treatment of Endometriosis in Patients with Infertility (J  Rom Soc Obstet Gynecol, 2011); Endometriotic Lesion Resection vs. Coagulation in Peritoneal Endometriosis (J  Rom Soc Obstet Gynecol, 2011); The Efficiency of Local Hormonal Therapy vs. Oral Hormonal Therapy in the Management of Perimenopausal Bleeding (J  Rom Soc Obstet Gynecol, 2011); Corpus Callosum Abnormalities: 2D vs. 3D Multiplanar vs. 3D – VCI (Ultras Obstet Gynecol, 2010); Surgical treatment for persistent CIN III / CIS in young patient (Int J Gynecol Obstet, 2009) and Vaginal hysterectomies for unprolapsed uterus – Personal experience in 3000 Cases (Int J Gynecol Obstet, 2009).
